Kouturekiss _ Get Loopy

  1. Begin with your hair in it’s natural texture. This hairstyle works best if you begin with a middle part, but you could do a side part as well.
  2. Pull all of your hair into a side ponytail.
  3. Section the hair above the ponytail into two parts.
  4. Pull the ponytail backwards through the hole you just made.
  5. Gently tighten the ponytail to make sure it’s secure
  6. Gently pull the hair above the ponytail to loosen it up a little.
  7. Wrap another ponytail around the hair about 2 inches below the one above it (depending on how thick your hair is), and make another hole for the hair to go through.
  8. Pull the hair through and gently pull just like you did before.
  9. Continue doing this until you reach the end, and… voila!

The Braided Headband _ Kouturekiss

  1. Begin with your hair already styled the way you want it when the braid is in (i.e. straight, wavy, curled, etc). I chose to straighten mine.
  2. Section off your hair beginning parallel to the arch of your eyebrow, and the hair that falls in front of year as well (this will help you to hide the start of the braid later on).
  3. Section off a 2×2 inch section of hair and begin loosely braiding.
  4. Tie off the end of your braid with an elastic.
  5. Wrap the braid over the top of your head and place it wherever works best for your hair cut and style.
  6. Place the end of the braid underneath a section of hair to hide it, and secure with a bobby pin.
  7. To add more volume and drama, tease the hair behind the braid and smooth it over to avoid any stray hairs.
  8. Apply a finishing creme or spray and…
  9. Voila!

The Chinese Staircase _ Revisited

Looking for a new play on a ponytail that’s unique and fun? Look no further than The Chinese Staircase. This is one of those hairstyles that look extremely complicated, but in fact are quite simple. But, regardless of the skill level needed for this style, either way it will be sure to be a conversation starter! See the steps below!

Step 1: Take a strand from the front of your head and hold apart from the rest of your hair. Gather the rest of your hair to the side and secure with an elastic.

Step 2: Grip the strand with one hand, and using the other wrap the strand around the front of the ponytail and loop it to create a knot.

Step 3: Gather another strand of hair from the ponytail and combine it with the end of your knot. Add a small amount of gel to combine the two pieces to avoid fly-away’s.

Steps 4-10: Repeat steps 2 & 3 on the new strand of hair. Continue these steps as far down as you would like.

Step 11: Secure the bottom with an elastic.

Voila! And there you have it! You’ve created a look that is anything but ordinary. So the next time you’re looking to put your hair in a ponytail, try this version to spice it up!

Kouturekiss _ The Mermaid Braid

With summer in full swing (and shortly coming to an end!), it’s totally time to play up your hairstyles! What better way to celebrate summer, femininity and all things ‘beachy’ than with the Mermaid Braid? Check out the steps below to master this mystical ‘do’!

  1. Start with wavy hair, pull all of your hair over one shoulder, and separate into two sections.
  2. Take one section and do a simple 3 strand braid. Then, secure with an elastic.
  3. Repeat Step 2 on the second section.
  4. Once you have two secured 3 strand braids, line them up next to each other, take a bobby pin, and pin them together. Add as many pins as necessary, starting at the base of your braid down to the end. Carefully remove the elastics from the ends of your braids and combine them and secure with one elastic.
  5. Starting towards the top of your braid, gently tug on the outer sections of your braid to make little ‘loops’ and loosen the braid (this will give it a whimsical feel and leave your braid wide and dramatic!).

Voila! There you have it! This braid is beautiful, bold and perfect for any occasion the summer has to offer. And, the fact that it’s super simple is an added bonus! So grab your tools and get braiding! With this hairstyle, you’re sure to make a ‘splash’!
