Kouturekiss - Eye Poppers Using White And Black Liner To Make Your Eyes Pop

Who doesn’t want bigger looking eyes? Unfortunately a lot of women don’t apply eyeliner correctly, making their eyes appear smaller than they really are. The key is to make your top lash line appear thicker and the whites of your eyes seem larger. The purpose is to open up your beautiful eyes, not enclose them.

  1. Gather your tools (see above).
  2. Start off by curling your lashes with an eyelash curler. Curl them from the base moving it to the middle of your lashes to get that perfect curl.
  3. Line your upper lid with black liquid liner by applying it along your lash line in small stokes as close to you lash line as you can get. This will give you more lid space, giving the appearance of larger eyes. To give your eyes a lift, thicken the liner towards the corner of the lid and extend it a bit, sweeping it up and out. This will help elongate the shape of your eyes and make you look more awake.
  4. Using solid black eyeliner, tightline your upper lash line making sure you fill in the roots of your lashes well. Don’t forget to get the outer corners. Tightlining gives your lash line depth and lashes a full appearance before even having mascara on. Dense lashes define and open up the eyes. The reason I don’t use the gel liner to tightline is because mine tends to transfer to my waterline and we want to keep that area clean. Revlon’s ColorStay eyeliner doesn’t transfer or smudge.
  5. Next apply a white or flesh tone liner to your waterline will give help them look less tired, brighter eyes. I personally prefer a peachy tone because it looks more natural but for this tutorial I’m using a pearly white color called Cottage Cheese by NYX. Applying a black liner to your waterline defines your eyes but doesn’t serve the purpose of making them appear larger.
  6. Using the white eyeliner, wing it out to create a gap in the outer corner separating the bottom and upper lash line by a millimeter. This will also open up your eyes. Marilyn Monroe used this trick all time.
  7. To define your lower lash line, use a dark brown shadow on the out corner of your lashline fading it out towards the middle. Don’t take the shadow all the way to the inner eye duct. This will make your eyes appear closer to each other. To give the illusion of a lower lashline, wing the brown shadow slightly downwards at the outer corner.
  8. Lastly, finish off with black mascara on your top and lower lashes to open your eyes up. This is, in my opinion the most important step to open up your eyes and make them pop.

I just focused on liner itself for this tutorial, but feel free to use this with any look using eye shadow. After all, it’s all about being creative and making it your own.

Kouturekiss - Bye Bye Eye Bags Conceal Away Those Pesky Circles

Been up all night? Then it’s probably time to break out the concealer! Trust us, if you use it correctly, no one will notice that you didn’t get a wink of sleep. If you have “monolids” like me, “bags” won’t be that visible. But for everyone else, your bags will be darker and more puffy the under eye area than normal. However, I do need to use a concealer to even out color. Many people struggle to cover bags up, but you just need to follow these steps and you’ll be saying “goodbye” to those dark pesky circles forever!

  1. Choose a concealer that is one shade lighter than your foundation and skin tone to create a brightening effect. In the picture above I’m using the Maybelline 24 hour super stay concealer.
  2. Put 3 dots of concealer at the under eye area. Don’t put TOO much, otherwise it will look cake-y.
  3. Gently pat the concealer into your skin with your ring finger until your eye bags aren’t visible anymore. Apply more concealer if needed.
  4. An important step is to set the concealer with a powder. You can either apply powder now, without applying a foundation. Or, you can apply a foundation on your whole face after you’ve concealed your eye bags to make your skin tone even. When you are done you can set it all with powder.

Voila! Now, who was saying they’ve been up all night?

Kouturekiss - A Dark And Smoldering Eye For The Light Skinned Blue Eyed Girl

Today I am going to be showing you how to get a sexy sultry smokey eye. I was inspired by Jennifer Love Hewitt who defines sexiness and is known for her sultry smokey eyes. So instead of focusing on just a basic black smokey eye I wanted to do a golden, bronzy eye that suits light skin tones and light-colored eyes.

  1. The first thing you are going to want to do is Prime your eye. This will help your eyeshadow stay all day or all night. I am using the Too Faced Shadow Insurance, but any primer you enjoy will do. You are going to need the Urban Decay Naked palate  This will help create this amazing look. You are going to want to take a stiff shadow brush and use Half Baked from the palette and place the shadow on the inner half of the lid. Then you are going to take the shadow right next to it in Smog on the other side of that stiff brush and place that on the outer half of your lid.
  2. Take a stiff crease brush and you are going to take the color “Naked” and apply that in the crease and a little bit above the crease to help blend everything.
  3. Use the color “Creep” and apply that to the outer “V” which is the outer part of the crease and blending it to the eye lid. Which will add to the smokey effect on the eye.
  4. Now you are going to take the lightest color in the palette which is Virgin and apply that top your brow bone to highlight it.
  5. Next, take whatever black eyeliner you want and apply that to your upper lash line and your lower waterline.
  6. Apply your favorite volumizing mascara to fill out your lashes.
  7. Take a smudging brush with creep and apply that to your lower lash line and then take a big fluffy brush with Virgin and apply that to your inner corner.

How easy was that?! This look is great for day or night time, and suits so many shades of blue eyes. This look can easily be changed with a great set of false lashes and a few coats of mascara! I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and have fun playing with your bronzy smokey eyes.

Kouturekiss - Give Me Big & Bold Brows
Big, thick brows are definitely “in” right now. Have you seen supermodel Cara Delevingne’s?!

A little trick to quickly make your eyebrows bolder and darker is to use an eye shadow color that is a shade darker than your natural brow color and apply it with any thin eye brush (I used a Sephora angled eyeliner brush).

  1. Start about ½ an inch away from the start of your brow (near your eye) and fill in any sparse areas with your dark eye shadow.
  2. Next fill in the top part of your brow (that you skipped before) with whatever small amount of eye shadow is remaining on the brush (so it is not as dark as the rest of your brow in this area).
  3. Finally, dab a little concealer above and below your brow. This contrast of light with dark will make your brows stand out even more! Be careful not to get concealer on your brow.
  4. Finish with mascara & liner and voila! Cara Delevinge brows!

Keep in mind that this is not an entirely “natural” look, so make sure you only go super bold for nights out or special events. Add a dark smokey eye, some liner and mascara and you are good to go!
