Kouturekiss _ Pucker Up Pretty

Almost everyone has something about their lips they would like to enhance. Today I will be showing you how to make them more plump! The best kept secret to any lipstick application is lip scrub.

  1. First, start off with a scrub so you have a clean canvas to apply your lip products. I used the Lush Lip Scrub, and these come in delicious flavors such as bubblegum and popcorn!
  2. Second, apply some Vaseline or your favorite chapstick to hydrate your lips. When your lips are fully moisturized, they become naturally more plump!
  3. Next, use a flesh toned concealer to conceal your lips into your natural skin color or foundation. I used a concealer from my Anastasia Beverly Hills eyebrow kit, even though it is meant for eyebrows it was the perfect color to match my skin.
  4. The next step is the fun part, take a lipliner and line your lips slightly outside of the edge of your natural lip. I used a NYX retractable lip liner in the color Natural.
  5. Lastly, you will want to fill your lips in with a lipstick or gloss. I went for the NYX Pump It Up lip plumper in the color Elizabeth. This lipgloss is amazing for two reasons, the first being that it has an amazing color pay off. The second is that it has Maxi-Lip peptides to enhance your lips, which basically means it gives your lips that burning sensation and makes them feel twice the size! I went for a nude look here, but this will work perfectly with any color! Good luck!

Not true! Here’s a super easy way to achieve this trend. This can be done with any colors you want. You’ll need a dark lip liner, and two lipsticks. Make sure the lipsticks contrast: one very light and one deep.

Kouturekiss - Getting Lippy For The Dark Skinned Girl

In order to “master” something, you need to take a little time to perfect what you’re going for. Quick makeups are great, but like anything, perfection takes time!

  1. Start with a clean lip. Wipe off any chapstick or oily residue.
  2. Outline top lip with a red lipliner (a thick line), I used Cherry from MAC.
  3. Outline bottom lip.
  4. Take the outline through the corners of the lip.
  5. Shade in the corners of the lip about halfway. This will give the lip a more contoured look, especially if you naturally have a fuller lip.
  6. It should look like this.
  7. Apply a lighter shade lipstick in the middle. I used Lady Danger, also from MAC.
  8. Rub together to blend
  9. Use lipliner to solidify your original line, and to blend the lipstick together with the liner.
  10. Take a full coverage powder or concealer on a flat brush. I used Studio Fix Powder and a #242 brush from MAC.
  11. Use to make your edges more crisp.
  12. Voila!

p.s. Don’t blow off the lipliners ladies! Lipliner is so important for a clean, bold and sexy lip! It makes the lip look like a stamp on the face, and it also helps to keep those beautiful colors from bleeding! Good luck!
