We are all looking for the best body scrub to leave our skin silky smooth. The problem is we don’t want to break the bank. Instead of spending the big bucks for the latest exfoliators or spa treatments, why not make your own?  I’ve come up with a recipe for the perfect scrub that will leave your skin smooth, fresh and clean without any irritation. Want to know the best part? Everything you need is waiting for you in your kitchen cabinet!

  1. You’ll need salt and sugar (more of one, depending on the type of scrub you want), olive oil, and honey.  You need one part oil to two parts sugar or salt.
  2. For an average amount of the scrub, take ½ cup of salt or sugar. I decided to use sugar, since it tends to be gentler on the skin, and add it to a large mixing bowl.
  3. Then take ¼ cup of olive oil (regular or extra virgin) and add it to the salt or sugar.
  4. After you’ve added the olive oil, add two tablespoons of honey for extra benefits. The honey acts as an adhesive for the scrub and it also is amazing for your skin.
  5. Add a few sprinkles of either salt or sugar, whichever you didn’t use in step 2.
  6. Mix everything together and there you go! You have your own natural exfoliator (made from your kitchen!) in less than 5 minutes!

Now its time to hit the shower or bath to give your body the ultimate skin smoothing treatment!

Candy colors and sherbet hues have been popping up all over the beauty scene. It seems like every nail polish brand has come out with shades of bubblegum pink, cotton candy blue and the seasons must have minty green. While we all love to follow these latest beauty trends, it’s important that the color compliments your skin tone. Not sure how to find your perfect candy color? Here are some tips for us lighter skinned ladies with pink undertones.

The trick to finding your perfect candy color is all about the undertone of the nail polish. It’s important to make sure that the undertone color compliments the undertone of your skin. Having pink or cool undertones, it’s best to stick with blue or white base polishes. They offset the redness in your skin allowing the true color of the nail polish to pop.

Try a minty green color or mid-tone cotton candy pink. Another great option is a peachy sherbet color; just make sure to look for one with a whiter base. These colors will look amazing on the skin allowing for a true candy color. Another awesome tip is to start out with a white base underneath the nail polish. It makes the color of the polish come out richer and more opaque.

Now that you have the info, it’s time to show off your perfect candy colored manicure!
