Ponytails are far from boring. A properly executed pony can make an outfit! Personally, I have been rocking this pony a lot lately. It’s cute, fast, and gets my hair out of the way for a busy day.

  1. Brush your hair
  2. Carefully brush out any bumps so it makes easier for you when trying to tie your hair
  3. Bring your hair forward and brush any bumps you might have underneath your hair.
  4. Bring your hair high and do one last brush so the front can look sleek and nice. Tie your hair high and secure it with a hair tie.
  5. Start by wrapping your hair around the curling iron this will create a wave but instead of wrapping all of your hair the same way switch it off.
  6. Do some strands towards the right and some towards the left this will create a bigger volume.
  7. Once you have created waves all around your hair take small amount of oil spread it around your palms and spread your fingers through your waves. This will cause them to split and give you a natural and dimensional look.
  8. “Scrunch” from the bottom of your pony for added volume.
  9. Smile!
  10. Voila! This sleek wavy pony with volume is a perfect hairstyle to dress up or down.

As many of you may know October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month – so I though of a cute, stylish way to support and show your pride towards the cause. Personally, I think pink nails are always cute. I wanted to make this manicure simple, wearable, and pretty.

Kouturekiss _ The Breast Cancer Awareness Mani

Step 1: Make sure your nails are clean of any polish and shape the way you are most comfortable with. Make sure to add a base coat, I always add a base coats when I’m doing my nails because it makes my polish last longer and it protects my nails from getting stain. I’m using “Grow Faster” by Essie because not only is it a good base, but it helps my nails grow quicker.

Step 2: Choose your favorite pink shade nail polish and apply two coats to all your nails except for your ring finger. I chose “lovie Dovie” by Essie because I love the shade of pink it has its neither too light nor too dark.

Step 3: Add your favorite glitter to your ring finger. I added a pink and purple one just to keep the theme going. You will also be adding two coats as well, but instead of just brushing the glitter on like a regular nail polish dab the glitter on. This allows the glitter to stay in the nail better.

Step 4: Grab a thin brush nail polish and start on your bow. First start from the bottom and make a line towards the beginning of your nail make sure you move your nails towards you so you can see the way your line is going and have a better handle in making the design.

Step 5: Move your nails away from you and curve your line enough to make a circle.

Step 6: Move your nails towards you once again and bring down the second line. Make sure it overlaps the first line you made. It is completely fine if it doesn’t come out right the first time have a little patience, remember practice makes perfect.

Steps 7, 8, and 9: Pour some white nail polish on a piece of paper and use a dotter to add some polka dots to your index finger. I added a dot in the middle and two on each side.

Voila! Make sure to add a topcoat once your bow and polka dots are dry this way your design wont smeared. You’re all done! This is a fun way to support a great cause with pretty nails.

Let’s face it: if your hair is naturally curly, getting those perfect curls that are soft and frizz free can be a challenge. I have tried many techniques and many products, and no matter what I did, I would always end up with crunchy, hard, and volume-less curls. I finally came across a diffuser and it forever transformed dealing with my curly hair (struggle no more!).

Kouturekiss - Master The Art Of The Diffuser

If you are wondering what a diffuser does, it connects to your hair dryer and reduces the speed of the hot air that is coming out to ensure that the form and bounciness of your curl remains untouched. A diffuser not only keeps the shape of your curl, but also gives your hair volume and dries your hair pretty quickly. This is my hair routine when I decide to wear my natural curls. Make it yours too with these easy steps!

Steps 1 & 2: Start by using a shampoo for natural curly hair that gives your volume and texture. Brush your hair with a wide-tooth comb. Start from the bottom and work your way up. This will prevent unnecessary hair tangling and breakage.

Steps 3, 4, & 5: Separate your hair into two equal parts and add some curl defining cream. Work this cream from your ends to your roots. This will help create and bring out the shape of your curls.

Step 6: Add mouse to your entire head! It sounds like a lot, but it won’t be if you apply properly. Start from the ends and “scrunch” your hair up and down in order to spread the product evenly.

Step 7: Tilt your hair and add some mouse to the top of your hair and spray hair spray with a light hand. Don’t spray too much (you want a soft look, not a hard and “crunchy” look).

Steps 8, 9, 10, & 11: Flip hair up-side down. Grab sections of your hair and place them into the diffuser. Drive the diffuser in an up and down motion so your roots can have some of the heat. Do this by section.

Step 12: When your hair is about 80%-90% dry, flip your hair right-side up and adjust your curls in the position you want them. Add a little bit of hairspray for hold and finish!

Volia! Now look at that amazing hair, miss curly!

Kouturekiss - Fill In Those Eyebrows

Eyebrows play such a big part in the shape and look of your face they should be a priority when doing your makeup. Knowing how to fill them in can make or break the look you are going for. Full eyebrows are a big trend and mastering the look of them can get very tricky so here is an easy step-by-step way to do them.

  1. Brush your eyebrows with a clean mascara wand or an eyebrow brush.
  2. When selecting the color you will be using to fill your brows, always choose a color lighter than your hair color. If you want a defined eyebrow, make a thin line underlining the bottom of your eyebrow with the darker color.
  3. Apply a lighter color to the beginning of the brow.
  4. Use a darker color to fill from the arch towards the end of the brow.
  5. Next, comb your eyebrows upwards. This will help blending the added color, and help to create the naturally full look.
  6. After combing, apply a brow gel to hairs so they stay in place throughout the day/night.
  7. If you want that clean and perfect look get a small amount of concealer and apply it right under your eyebrow line. This will give you a clean and define line.
  8. Voila! There you have it now go show those perfect brows off.
