Long, Loose, and Luscious Bed-Head Waves (for the straight-haired girl)

While we all love poker straight, shiny locks, there are times when you just can’t help but dream of a loose, tousled, sexy bed-head. It’s pretty but low-maintenance, it says ‘Oh this? It’s just my natural hair’ and is a look that works on anyone with medium to long length hair. Here is the simplest way to achieve it.

  1. After washing your hair, blow dry until it’s about 80% percent dry (still a little damp to the touch) then separate into two sections. Then take each section and split it in half again, so you have four sections.
  2. Take one section of hair and begin to twist it away from your face (this will produce a wave that turns outwards, giving your hair more volume)
  3. Keep twisting until the twist turns itself into a small bun or knot. Bear in mind, the higher on your head you position the knot, the more volume the waves will have once they’re dry!
  4. Secure the knot with a hair tie or band, make sure it’s secure! Repeat with the other three sections.
  5. Once all of the sections are secure, blast them with your hairdryer for a few minutes! Now mist the knots with some strong-hold hair spray. The longer you leave the knot tied up, the stronger the wave will be (you could even sleep on it – not very comfortable though!)
  6. Untie your hair once it’s completely dry and release your luscious loose waves! You can brush the waves through if you like a softer girlier look, or do as I do and leave them loose and wild for that ‘just crawled out of bed’ look. It’s quick and simple, leaving you with gorgeous loose waves. Give it a try!
