  1. Paint your nails with one shade. Let them dry completely! The trick to mastering this technique is to be patient. They need to be totally dry.
  2. Apply the tape to your nails in any angle you prefer. The tape will cover the area of the nail you don’t wish to paint. Make sure to press down completely so you get a super sharp line!
  3. Apply a thick coat of your contrasting polish!
  4. Remove the tape in one swift motion while your nails are still wet!
  5. Wait a few minutes and once it’s mostly dry, seal with a clear coat. (more…)

  1. Begin with a good base coat (I used Essie’s Good To Go Top Coat). Always begin with a base coat underneath your polish to prevent them from discoloration!
  2. Apply the first coat of nail polish. You can use any color you want- I chose this beautiful pale pink which is Essie’s “Ballet Slippers”.
  3. Apply the second coat of your color to make sure there you can’t see any of your nail peeking through.
  4. Apply a glitter (again-any color you want, but I went with Essie’s “Set In Stones”) to just the base of each nail.
  5. Before the glitter dries, apply your top coat to drag the glitter up into a gradient effect.
  6. Clean up any mistakes you made and…
  7. Voila!

The Breast Cancer Awareness Mani

October 27, 2013

As many of you may know October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month – so I though of a cute, stylish way to support and show your pride towards the cause. Personally, I think pink nails are always cute. I wanted to make this manicure simple, wearable, and pretty.

Step 1: Make sure your nails are clean of any polish and shape the way you are most comfortable with. Make sure to add a base coat, I always add a base coats when I’m doing my nails because it makes my polish last longer and it protects my nails from getting stain. I’m using “Grow Faster” by Essie because not only is it a good base, but it helps my nails grow quicker. (more…)

  1. You’ll need a nail polish for all over, a glitter polish, and a top coat! Start with clean bare nails.
  2. Paint your nails with a couple if coats of your polish, wait a couple minutes in between coats so it turns out nice!
  3. Paint your glitter at the top of your nails near your cuticle. Sort of like you would for a French tip mani but reverse! Don’t over think this step, it doesn’t have to be perfect!
  4. Wait a minute, then take your glitter again and drag it from the top of the nail to slightly past where your first glitter coat ends. Lift the brush up as you reach the edge of your glitter. We are making streaks of glitter that trail off!
  5. Finish with a clear top coat.
  6. Clean up any loose glitter polish with a Q-tip and nail polish remover.
  7. Voila!
