With contouring, you can sculpt your face into whatever shape you like. To add shadows or depth, we’re going to use darker powders or creams. Usually, the key places to contour are the hollows of the cheeks (You can find these by sucking your cheeks in like a fishy face), the temples, and the jawline. However, you can pretty much contour wherever you’d like! (Even your nose or eyes – it will help add dimension to your face if it’s looking a bit flat.) As a woman of color I know how difficult it is to find an appropriate nude lip color. I’ve gone through many different brands, finishes, colors ect. Some are too light for my skin tone and make me look washed out. Some are too frosty. The list of issues is endless. My advice: Look for lipstick that is only a shade or two lighter than your natural skin tone. One’s with brown or red undertones look great. Finding a nude lipstick that is perfect for you is a great addition to your makeup collection. These can be used when you want to have the focus off of your lips. Perhaps with a smokey eye or bronzed skin. Another option is a “your lips but better” nude. This color will not be something that will hide the lips, but accentuate them. This can be a neutral toned lipstick with red undertone (as picture) or even a tinted lip balm. Anything that makes your lips pop.
