The Loose and Messy Beach-Ready Fishtail Braid

Kouturekiss _ The Loose And Messy Fishtail Braid

  1. The first step to getting the perfect messy, “beachy” texture is to apply a texturing spray infused with sea salt. This is going to imitate the same texture you would get after spending a day at the ocean. I used Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Texturing Sea Salt Spray.
  2. Run your fingers through your hair to distribute the product. You can also use a brush to comb it through, depending on how messy you want the braid to look.
  3. Begin braiding a basic fishtail braid. If you don’t know how to fishtail, check out Elizabeth’s tutorial.
  4. Once you have braided as far as you can, tie with a clear elastic and start gently pulling at the sides of the braid. This will make the look more un-done and messy as well as make your braid appear thicker.
  5. Take the majority of the top layers that have fallen out of the braid and pin them up into a bouffant. (Keep a few strands down so it doesn’t look too neat).
  6. Apply a light misting of hairspray to keep it perfectly messy all day long. Voila!
