Step 1: Begin with your hair in it’s natural texture. I like to put a bit of heat protectant in my hair before I begin as well.
Steps 2 and 3: Pull your hair back into a high ponytail. It doesn’t need to be perfect, just make sure there aren’t too many bumps and it is as high on your head as you can get it while still keeping it clean.
Step 4: Begin sectioning off your hair.
Step 5: Take the first section and begin curling. How many sections you do will depend on the thickness of your hair, but 3-6 sections should do the trick. I have pretty thick hair so I did 6 sections.
Step 6: Continue curling each section.
Step 7: Once all the sections are curled, spritz on a bit of hair spray to make sure you don’t lose the curls once you take the ponytail out.
Step 8: Shake out the curls at the scalp.
Step 9: Shape and part your hair how you want it and …
She probably just pulled it out hun because that what I did and the curls came out really good and the same

Which way did you curl it?…I noticed that the direction with which you curl the curl is really important when doing this hairstyle….when I try it out I can’t seem to remember which direction to curl the hair in.

It depends on how you want the style to look. Curling inward toward your face is more pin-up (a bit harder to work with, can look dated) while curling outward is more carefree and messier and more modern. It looks like she curled it facing outward from her face (so, it’s as if each curl is bending away from the face on each side, a different direction on each side). That’s the way I curl my hair

How do you pull out the elastic without wrecking the curls?! I know my hair and they’ll get totally ruined…

the commenter above actually had a good idea that you could cut it — use cheap elastics and cut them out each time… What I did (I have super-fine hair and it’s easy to lose the curls) is use a lace ponytail holder and not wrap it super tight…it was easier to work with and didn’t wreck the curls!

this is great. i have super-fine hair and had no idea if it would work. it was really fast (like i said…very little hair — i was shocked when the 3rd tiny section was all that was left) but it looked pretty nice when i took it out for only having spent a few minutes on it! a couple touch ups and it was pretty impressive. thanks!

Love these ideas! I also prefer to secure hair in a high ponytail while creating curls. In that way, you will never miss a piece of hair and add extra volume to the roots of your hair!
I just did this and my hair went like CHING…. frizz everywhere when I pulled the hairtye out, I didnt use heat protect spray or anything and I did wash my hair this morning so maybe thats why :/ oh well have to try again

Tried this out and loved it. One basic question though, my hair comes down to my elbows, i cant get the curling iron all the way up to the ponytail. whats a good method for continuing the curl all the way up without it looking weird?
