How To Fill In Your Eyebrows

The task of tackling your brows can be somewhat intimidating. Most of us resort to having them professionally done to save the hassle and frustration of less than perfect results at home. Surprisingly enough, the obvious solution for great brows isn’t always removing hair by plucking or waxing, but to build on what you have by filling them in! The best part is if you mess up the first time, you don’t have to wait for them to grow back in, you can simply just wash the results off. It certainly isn’t something to be taken lightly, but with three easy steps you’ll be confident enough to do it yourself. So before you run to your trusted waxer, or claim you don’t have the time to add another tedious step, consider paying some more attention to the real attention getter’s.

Step 1 - Start with freshly waxed/plucked brows in your desired shape. Then select the shade you are going to use.

Tip: The shade you select should be a shade or two lighter than your natural brow color.

Step 2 – Start by drawing in light, feathery strokes to fill in the thin areas until you reach the desired fullness.

Tip: Don’t press too hard or over do it. The point is to have brows that look thick and full, not painted on.

Step 3 – With a brow brush swipe on a light coat of brow gel to keep loose hairs in place and to blend in the color you’ve just added for a natural look.

Tip: If you don’t  have brow gel, a small amount of alcohol-free hair gel will suffice.

Now that you have the knowledge of how to artfully fill in your brows, just keep in mind that even before skill, patience is the most important tool. There is nothing wrong with trial and error, so play around with different colors and tools until you find what suits you best. Filling in your brows with pencil is not your only option. You can also use brow powder or even some shades of eyeshadow. Once you get comfortable with the process you’ll be excited to add this to your usual beauty routine. Filling in your brows not only enhances your face and gives you a put together and polished look, but it can also give you more time between waxing and plucking! So resist the urge to grab your tweezers and instead opt for your pencil. You never know what life may throw your way, and if it’s anything worth ‘raising a brow‘ for, at least yours will be in great condition!
