Think purple shadows only compliment green eyes? False! Blue-eyed gals can pull them off too. Shades of lilac atop blue eyes create an analogous color scheme perfect for spring—here’s how to create a soft smokey eye with purple hues:
- Apply a primer to bare lids using your ring finger to create a smooth surface and to help eye shadows stay in place, remain true to color and be crease-free. Using a large eye brush, apply the second-lightest shadow in your palette to your lid and brow bone. (more…)

Add an unexpected twist to your everyday tresses! The waterfall twist braid is perfect for amplifying a simple hairstyle. With practice, this easy-to-wear braid can become a go-to style for the upcoming summer months.
- Start by applying a pea-size amount of a finishing serum, like Organix Repairing Awapuhi Ginger Dry Styling Oil, to dry locks; this will make braiding dry hair easier by taming any flyaways.
- Gather a two inch section of hair near the part—you can start at the hairline or behind bangs—and separate that section into two equal pieces.
- Take the piece closest to the hairline and twist it over the second piece.
- Holding the two pieces of hair in one hand, grab a small piece of hair from above the twisted section in your other hand and place it between the first and second pieces. Let the new piece hang loosely—you will never add hair to the two original sections. (more…)

Using a lightweight, liquid foundation is best because it will even out your skin without making it look cakey. Use your ring finger (which has the lightest touch) to pat foundation onto the face and then blend it down the jawline and neck. (more…)

Do you crave salon worthy hair? Here is a step-by-step guide to getting the best blow-out at home. You’ll need a blow dryer with a nozzle, detangler, a protective serum, a medium to large round brush (depending on how much hair you have) , styling oil and a clip.
- Spray de-tangler (like Silken Child Leave-In Detangler) onto wet hair so that it’s protected as you brush it out—always remember, hair is its most fragile when wet. Applying a de-tangler right out of the shower is best; using this type of spray on hair that is in the process of air drying will cause the hair to feel sticky once it’s dry.
- Using a blow dryer with the nozzle on, blow your bangs or any stubborn cowlicks that you have first, so that you can control these sections before they start to. I like to pull the rest of my hair back while doing this so that I can focus on the front section. (more…)
