The Breast Cancer Awareness Mani

October 27, 2013

As many of you may know October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month – so I though of a cute, stylish way to support and show your pride towards the cause. Personally, I think pink nails are always cute. I wanted to make this manicure simple, wearable, and pretty.

Step 1: Make sure your nails are clean of any polish and shape the way you are most comfortable with. Make sure to add a base coat, I always add a base coats when I’m doing my nails because it makes my polish last longer and it protects my nails from getting stain. I’m using “Grow Faster” by Essie because not only is it a good base, but it helps my nails grow quicker. (more…)

Glitter & Ghoul Halloween Eye

October 24, 2013

Trick or treat? It’s Halloween! Everyone’s favorite time of year to experiment and get a little crazy with their makeup and costumes. You could be scary, funny, outrageous or a little bit sexy! So here’s a Halloween inspired eye look, guaranteed to catch the eye of every vampire, ghost and werewolf in the room!

Kouturekiss - Glitter & Ghoul Halloween Eye

  1. Cover your entire lid in the black cream shadow or liner. Bring it just above the crease, right into the corner of your eye and into a feline flick on the outer corner. Take an eyeshadow brush and blend the edges of the black so they become a little softer.
  2. Take your eye pencil and apply black right the way along your lower lash line (be sure to get the waterline and join up the corners too!)
  3. Now, use the pencil to draw a small line from the inner corner of the eye down towards the nose – hypnotic animal eyes!
  4. Take your eyelash glue or adhesive and apply to the entire eyelid, BUT make sure to leave a small gap between where the glue ends and where the black makeup ends! This will leave some of the black showing and will define the glitter. Now the fun part! Dip a small brush in to the loose glitter and starting from the inner eye and working outwards, press the glitter onto the glue.
  5. Really pack it on. The sparklier, the better!
  6. Leave this all to set for 5 minutes and then you’re ready for magic and mischief! Add some mascara – and voila!

Try using different colored glitters, or one that will compliment your outfit! This eye look works for cats, witches, vampires, devils – you name it! Try it out and stay out of trouble! Happy Halloween!

The Messy Bun

October 24, 2013

There is no need for me to go in to detail of my love for buns! With so many different versions of the bun to choose from, it’s become a style that can truly be worn for any occasion! The version I’ll be doing today is cute, quick and a little messy, making it a perfect go-to style for days you’re running late!

Step 1 - Gather all of your hair to one side and secure it with an elastic.

Steps 2 & 3 - Take your donut form and place it at the end of your ponytail. (Usually you slide the donut up to the base of your ponytail, but with this style, to get the ‘messy’ look, we’re going to slowly work our way up from the bottom!)

Step 4 - Wrap the ends of your hair around the donut and slowly turning and twisting the donut form inside out until it works its way up the ponytail.

Step 5 - Once your bun is secure, take any layered pieces and pin them with a bobby pin.

There you have it! The messy bun is sure to become one of your favorite looks this fall!
