The cat eye is among the most popular makeup trends out there and with liquid liner it’s easy to achieve whether you’re aiming for a subtle version or full on drama, follow the steps below to get the purr-fect results every time!
- With liquid eye liner, the worst thing you can do is drench your brush! Dip the brush and be sure to dab off any excess liner. (For this tutorial i’m using e.l.f.’s liquid liner.) (more…)

Red lips will never go out of style. The lip-look is a classic way to spruce up any outfit and is elegant and timeless. For those olive toned girls, try a warmer red, which brightens up the face.
- To make sure that your lips are ready for red lips always make sure your lips are not dry. Drink plenty of water and keep your lips moisturized with a lip balm. Another trick to keep your lips looking smooth is by using a damp toothbrush brush lightly over your lips until they are completely smooth. This will allow the color to glide onto the lips.
- After you have moisturized your lips, line your lips with a color matching your lipstick. Lining the lips allows you to have a perfect guide to follow when applying the lipstick so it does not bleed onto the outer-lip skin.
- When you have completed applying the lip liner, apply your lipstick, and…
- Voila! You have crimson red lips!

The Double Rope Braid Bun is a simple, yet chic way to style your hair for any season! While the name may remind you of a classic childhood activity, luckily the steps aren’t quite as difficult. The steps are actually quite simple once you get the hang of it. (If you need a quick refresher, see the similar ‘Unicorn Braid’ tutorial to review the basic beginner steps!) Once you’ve got the direction of the ‘twisting’ down, follow the steps below to take it to the next level!
Step 1 - Gather hair into a ponytail.
Tip: You can customize your end result by gathering hair into a high or low ponytail. This will change up the end look!
Step 2 - Divide ponytail into two sections. Take one section and clip back out of the way. (more…)

A key way to make your eyes stand out is by mastering the smokey eye. Another key way is to find out what colors really make your eyes pop. As a fellow member of the brown eyed community, taupes and greens are top tier to making those babies look their best. In this tutorial, I chose a deep taupe and as an accent a wonderful ligher taupe to add some dimension.
- Firstly, apply the deeper taupe all over your lid focusing on the crease and outer corner. This all depends on your eye shape and, if it helps, instead of closing your eye, apply the colors with you looking straight ahead to ensure that every aspect of the smokey eye is visible. This is a great tip, especially if you have hooded eyes.
- Next, concentrate that lighter taupe into the first half of your eye and the inner corner. Since the color is lighter than the deep taupe, it will open up your eye making you look more awake.
- Be sure to blend in all the colors! Now, with a color closest to your skin tone with a bit of shimmer (I’m using a champagne color) add that as a highlight to your brow bone. With such a smokey look, you want to bring in light to your eye area.
- Add multiple coats of mascara and you are ready to go!
