All things ‘vintage’ are in high demand. This doesn’t mean you have to limit yourself to clothing and accessories, you can also apply the look to your hair. The vintage bun is a great option if your looking for an easy, elegant up-do. With a few added steps, you can give your average bun a glamourous kick. Follow the steps below to see how!
- Start with loose, wavy hair.
- The trick to give your bun a vintage glam – volume! Take the top section of your hair and tease, tease, tease!
- Gather the rest of the hair about mid way on your head and secure with an elastic.
- Secure any loose or hanging sections of the bun with bobby pins.
- Finish off your look with a lace or printed head wrap or headband!
There you have it! With a little (or a lot!) of volume and key accessories, you’ve taken your typical bun and gave it a vintage glam appeal!

Some hair styles can be a little intimidating. When the end result looks pretty and intricate, we always assume the process will be complicated. A great example is the twisted bun. Super cute and feminine, and believe it or not, very easy to do! Follow the steps below and see for yourself!
- Pin up the top half of your hair up out of the way with a clip.
- Secure the rest of your hair in a low simple bun.
- Start taking sections from the sides of your hair and twirling around your finger. Then pin into the bun with a bobby pin. Continue this step with all of the side pieces.
- Tease hair at the top of your head and pin in place!
Once complete, for a softer look, you can pull and loosen the pieces around your face. Feel free to also once over any hanging pieces with a curling iron. Then, finish with some hairspray and you’ll be elegantly out the door!

While new hair trends are constantly popping up, sometimes the best place to look for a great hair stlye is the past! Loose vintage waves are a classic and sexy look that will never go out of style. The best part is that this look is super easy to achieve. Follow the steps below!
Step 1: Start with straight hair.
Step 2: Section off your hair starting at the bottom and working your way up.
Step 3: With a curling iron, take a section of hair and curl in/under towards you, creating a tight ringlet.
Step 4-8: Repeat step 3-9 on the rest of your hair. Curl your hair in towards you, not outwards (otherwise it will flip).
Step 9: Once all hair is in ringlets, using a brush, gently brush out all ringlets. (See final look soft brushed look at step 10)
Step 11: Take your curling iron on the ends of hair and give one final curl flipping hair in/under towards you.
Once finished, you should be left with loose vintage waves that are old school beauty icon worthy! For added glam, add a red pouty lip and you’ll feel red carpet ready!
