Glitter eyeshadow can be utilized in tons of ways, but its easiest to break it down into “unfocused” and “focused” uses. If you are loosely placing the glitter to just add some sparkle to your look, this would be considered an “unfocused” use. Precisely placing glitter, for example, overtop a liner, would be a more “focused” use. So which is best for you?
A quick way to amp up your look is to add some sparkle! No matter what eye look you have created, it is always possible to add some glitter over top. In these two pictures (top row), I loosely placed glitter over top my eye makeup to take my daytime look into a more glamorous one for the night time. The glitter is really apparent in photography, as well as in dark light, so this is a really simple way to make your nighttime makeup stand out! (more…)

In practically every event, you will see a celeb rocking the chic, high ponytail look. I thought it would be impossible to achieve because my hair is so flat, but with a teasing comb, even girls with hair like mine are guaranteed tons of volume. It can be difficult to find a flattering red lip color for olive-skinned beauties, but that does not mean it should be totally avoided. While the classic “true red” is usually too bright and tends to clash with olive skin tones, there are certainly some shades of red that do the job and compliment your skin color.
Before testing a red on your lips, see how it looks when you apply it to your hands. Generally if the color is clashing with the skin on your hands, it will clash amongst the skin on your face and it’s probably not a good pick. Any reds that have a cool “blue” toned base will clash with olive tones, which is why the classic bright red lip does not usually work.
