Kouturekiss _ How To Get Glam Hollywood Hair

  1. Begin with dry hair in its natural state. I don’t apply any product before putting in my rollers, but you could apply a curl-enhancing mousse if you like.
  2. Before wrapping each section into a curler, run your curling iron through and do a quick curl just to heat up the section of hair. I also like to separate and pin each section that I am going to putting a curler in just so I don’t get confused when I am trying to curl and roll sections.

  1. For best results begin with clean, dry hair in your natural texture. Separate your hair to begin working on the bottom section. I typically separate my hair into thirds but depending on how thick your hair is you may want to do more or fewer sections.
  2. For each section, apply a heat protectant and brush out any knots. I used TRESemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Leave-In Spray. (more…)

Kouturekiss - Perfect The Natural Looking Wave

Step 1: The first step in any hairstyle involving a heat tool is to prep your hair. I used TRESemme Keratin Smooth Heat Protection Shine Spray first, followed by a light misting of TRESemme Ultra Fine Mist Hair Spray. I find that prepping my hair with hairspray helps the curls to hold better. The secret to a classic wave hairstyle is a small barrel curling iron, a clip-less one that is. I will be using my Cortex 4 in 1 curling iron set with the smallest barrel which is a 1/2-1″. Now on to the fun part! (more…)

Kouturekiss - How To Master Old Hollywood Waves

  1. Using your brush, give your hair a deep side part.
  2. Curl all of your hair in the same direction on each side towards your face. The smaller the barrel of your curler, the more wavy it’ll be in the end. Try your best to have all of your curls be super structured and symmetrical (ie look the same!).
  3. Once all your hair is all curled you should look something like this. Usually perfectly curled hair is not flattering, but for this technique, it’s necessary!
  4. After the curls have cooled completely, use your brush to gently comb out your curls. If your hair likes to hold onto curl, you may need to do this more than once.
  5. Set with your favorite hairspray and/or shine spray.

Et Voilá! Some lipstick and a LBD and you are red carpet ready!
