Heavy Silver Glitter Fade Smokey Eye

I love this dramatic silver look – especially for a night out. It is super simple to achieve and it is an easy way to experiment with the ombre trend, except this time, on your eyes! When your eye is shut, you can see the silver gradient as the colors blend and mesh into one another. It can be mastered in a few simple steps and little time.

  1. Start off with 3 base shades – a black, a white and a silver. These can be anything form eyeliner pencils, to creme shadows to eyeshadow sticks. They are simply for the purpose of intensifying the gradient of the colors and giving the shadows something to stick to. Apply a white base in the inner corner and inner fourth of the lid. Take a silver shade and apply it to the inner half of the lid. Finally, use a black shade and apply it to the outer corner of your lid. These bases will give you a good assessment of where to place and blend the rest of your colors! (more…)

The Daytime Smokey Eye

Posted on October 5, 2012

Filed in: Eyes, Makeup

We all know the famous smokey eye. Appropriate for evenings and going out, but usually never welcomed during day time as it is just way to harsh. With simple alterations however, every girl can take her beloved smokey eye and rock it for work, school or just daytime errands.

Using softer tones, like browns and greys, the smokey eye transforms into an appropriate look that will make your eyes stand out under the shining sun. Also, not including eyeliner tones down the harshness of the eye makeup. Let’s get started:

  1. Using a soft medium toned brown – usually one close, but perhaps a shade darker than your skin tone – sweep it all across your eyelid stopping at your crease with a shadow brush.  (more…)

It seems that everyone is embracing the Dark Romantic trend this season, a gorgeous mix of sinister style and colour, coupled with sparkle and a girly touch. And while we all love the classic French Manicure, what better way to update the look and rock this season’s Gothic Glamour trend than on your nails? It’s both classy and punk, mixing traditional and modern styles - and it suits everyone! So, here we show you how to master the surprisingly simple glitter tipped french mani.

  1. First, apply the dark shade of your choice to the whole nail (I used a classic black shade for timeless glamour). Wait for this to dry, as the nail needs to be completely dry for the next stage of the manicure.  (more…)

Fall is finally here which means bold lips will definitely be taking front row in this season’s top trend. As the weather gets colder will start to see less light pinks and peachy tones and more deep tones. Burgundies, reds, plums and deep nudes are all part of this fall trend colors. Of course if you’re really daring you can go for those really dark vampy bold lips. In this tutorial, I’ll show all of you girls with yellow undertones how to apply a dark red lip color in six easy steps.

Make Your Own Exfoliator With Ingredients From Your Kitchen

Posted on October 1, 2012

We are all looking for the best body scrub to leave our skin silky smooth. The problem is we don’t want to break the bank. Instead of spending the big bucks for the latest exfoliators or spa treatments, why not make your own?  I’ve come up with a recipe for the perfect scrub that will leave your skin smooth, fresh and clean without any irritation. Want to know the best part? Everything you need is waiting for you in your kitchen cabinet!

  1. You’ll need salt and sugar (more of one, depending on the type of scrub you want), olive oil, and honey.  You need one part oil to two parts sugar or salt.
  2. For an average amount of the scrub, take ½ cup of salt or sugar. I decided to use sugar, since it tends to be gentler on the skin, and add it to a large mixing bowl.
  3. Then take ¼ cup of olive oil (regular or extra virgin) and add it to the salt or sugar.
  4. After you’ve added the olive oil, add two tablespoons of honey for extra benefits. The honey acts as an adhesive for the scrub and it also is amazing for your skin. (more…)

Crimson Red Lips for The Olive Skinned Girl

Skin Color:

Red lips will never go out of style. The lip-look is a classic  way to spruce up any outfit and is elegant and timeless. For those olive toned girls, try a warmer red, which brightens up the face.

  1. To make sure that your lips are ready for red lips always make sure your lips are not dry. Drink plenty of water and keep your lips moisturized with a lip balm. Another trick to keep your lips looking smooth is by using a damp toothbrush brush lightly over your lips until they are completely smooth. This will allow the color to glide onto the lips.
  2. After you have moisturized your lips, line your lips with a color matching your lipstick. Lining the lips allows you to have a perfect guide to follow when applying the lipstick so it does not bleed onto the outer-lip skin.
  3. When you have completed applying the lip liner, apply your lipstick, and…
  4. Voila! You have crimson red lips!
