It’s no secret that girls tend to be picky with their hair, and keeping up with the trends can sometimes seem impossible. Whether it’s short hair or long locks dominating the beauty scene, it’s now possible to switch up your look within five to ten minutes. So if you’re looking to add length or volume to your hair or counteract a less than perfect haircut, clip-in hair extensions are ideal to make a change without having to wait! Application may seem tricky, but if you follow the steps below you’ll be rocking extensions in no time!

  1. Start with short, natural, extension-less hair.
  2. Brush out all tangles. For beginners, it’s easiest if you flat iron your hair before starting to ensure easy application.
  3. Dive hair into sections, starting with the bottom layer. Clip up the rest of your hair out of the way.
  4. Tease a small section of hair where the clips will be attached. Then, clip in the first layer. Note: A layer of hair extensions usually has about 3 clips per piece.
  5. Take down the next layer, and repeat above steps.
  6. Once you’ve worked your way up and have used all of your extension pieces, do a once over with your flat iron and brush to mix in your real hair with the extensions. This will give your hair a natural look.
  7. (Optional) – Style hair! If you use ‘Human Hair’ extensions the possibilities are endless. You can curl, straighten and even color the extensions!

Voila! So there you have it! Now that you know the secret of hair extensions, you can keep up with even the most dramatic hair trends without any problem. Although they tend to be a little high maintenance, the freedom of being able to switch up your look is totally worth the added effort!
