All you need for this look is:

  • Curling Wand/Straighteners
  • Bobby Pins
  • Elastic Bands

I have very long hair, but whenever I see a girl with glamorous Olivia Palermo style locks I can’t help but feel hair envy! However, I have never been able to muster the courage to actually chop off my locks. The faux bob is perfect for those who want to change up their everyday look and without having to actually cut it. You can have either curly or straight hair with the faux bob, however, I’ve opted with curls as I feel it adds a more glamorous element to the look. I started by curling the whole of my head from the roots to the ends. Once that is done part the hair from ear to ear and clip up the top half of your hair. With the hair that is not clipped begin to braid it against your scalp and pin it flat against your head. Unclip the rest of your hair and create a low ponytail. Then with your fingers loosely begin to pull your hair out, but not completely, of the ponytail. This will be your faux bob so make sure your hair is pulled out to an appropriate length and that it also looks realistic. With your ponytail tuck it under your hair and with bobby pins begin to pin it to the braid underneath, make sure everything is tucked in properly and that it looks neat. Finally fix any strays with a spritz of hairspray, and voila you have a chic bob without the chop!
